Battle of Waterloo
The Battle of Waterloo was fought near Waterloo (present-day Belgium). It was a Nopoleonic war in which an Imperial French army under the command of Emperor Napoleon lost to the opposing league of the Seventh Coalition, combined of an Anglo-allied army under the Duke of Wellington and a Prussian army under the command of Gebhard von Blücher. The defeat of Napoleon’s last battle ended his rule as Emperor of France and marked the end of his Hundred Days return from exile. |
